Aldi has become a hub for beauty products on a budget, and really good ones at that.
The beauty world has grown, and many best-selling products become viral sensations, so we can always rely on TikTok and Instagram to show us the best in the business.
This is where Aldi comes in as many of their popular products have been tested out and have had some incredible results. From make up to skincare, below are the beauty must haves you need from your local supermarket, which will save you a fortune in comparison to their more expensive versions.
Emily Sleight tested out a full face of make up from the popular supermarket and the results were amazing.
Aldi’s own skincare range Lacura has been impressing shoppers for some time with its good value and quality. Many of you will be aware of the Aldi dupes of expensive brands that are available to purchase in store, from Clinique to Benefit.
The supermarket struck out into skincare with its Lacura collection, and have now entered the world of beauty. Since I’m big into makeup, I decided I’d give the Aldi makeup a whirl to see if it’s really worth the hype.
I purchased their Lacura Liquid Eyeliner , the Lacura Light BB Cream and the Revival Eyeshadow Palette and this was my verdict.
The BB Cream
I’m always a little dubious when it comes to BB Cream, purely because I prefer a much heavier coverage even day to day. Nevertheless, this was the only form of foundation I could get my hands on in store, so I thought I’d give it a try.
The product description states that the BB cream will even skin tone, blur lines and imperfections and hydrate skin. First impressions? Once you get over the standard ‘cosmetic’ scent, it actually feels pretty nice on the face. It gave my skin a nice glow, and didn’t feel too heavy or sticky on the skin like some BB creams or foundations can.
My only issue with this product is the fact that it was nowhere near enough coverage for me, and I had to go in with some concealer to cover my blemishes. But, that’s no fault of the BB Cream itself, because it's supposed to give a nice light base, so overall, I was pleasantly surprised.
Shade wise, I went for light, which was pretty spot on for my skin tone, and it didn’t appear orange which is always a bonus.

The Lacura Liquid Eyeliner
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for the liquid eyeliner, purely because I wear it everyday and swear by the Maybelline Master Ink liquid eyeliner. The packaging for this was okay, it wasn’t anything special, but for the price I wouldn’t expect it to be.
It was in the form of a pen, and once I began drawing my wing I was actually really shocked at how good the product was. The pen created a strong eyeliner line that didn’t smudge, and looked really bold!
It glided on perfectly and gave a nice matte finish which really impressed me.
The liquid eyeliner impressed me that much, that I’ve been using it ever since, and will continue to.

The Revival Eyeshadow Palette
I kid you not, this eyeshadow palette was actually better than some £40 Naked palettes I’ve got, and it was £5.99. The packaging was really pretty, with a pale pink velvet covering, Aldi have done really well with this product.
But was the eyeshadow pigmented enough? The answer to that is absolutely. I applied some to my lid and was shocked at how strong the colour was just with a simple stroke.
What’s even better is the eyeliner glided on perfectly after applying the eyeshadow, making the getting ready process very easy. Perfect for day or night, the palette really does contain ‘highly pigmented shades’ like the product description says. The palette contained quite warm and pinky tones, making it a perfect purchase for the spring.

Bethan Shufflebotham tested the Aldi Lacura blush said to be a dupe of NARS
NARS Orgasm X blush is a cult classic that retails at £27.50, but Aldi's beauty dupe is just £4.99 - five times cheaper. One of the first tell-tale signs of the dupe is the Lacura packaging, which bears a striking resemblance to the original NARS blush.
Inside, there’s a sleek grey compact with a generous pan of blush, as well as a mirror - perfect for carrying in your purse to top up your makeup on the go. I bought the shade Candy, which is a shimmery pink shade, perhaps bolder than I’d usually wear, but perfect for summer.
The better-than-£5 blush offered a pleasant pop of pink that looked healthy and glowy on my cheeks, lifting my face and defining my features. I was quite surprised that the texture didn’t feel chalky, and instead offered a weightless and well pigmented flush of colour.
What was really nice was that it was quite buildable, and while I don’t tend to go heavy on blusher, you absolutely could build this to be more vibrant on the skin - ideal for all skin types and tones.
Our Verdict...
Out of this week's pick, we have a very clear winner.
It may come as a surprise, but the Aldi Lacura blush (the cheapest of the lot), is our favourite for a handful of reasons.
Let's not forget to mention it's five times cheaper than the pricier version it is being said to dupe, it also looks stunning on Beth's complexion,
Make up lovers like to be able to build their products nowadays, and the Lacura product has gone viral with The Tiktoker, Georgia Baigrie, sharing a clip to her 33,000 followers claiming Aldi's Lacura range comes with affordable dupes of some of the cult brands biggest selling shades.
Beth also couldn't get enough of the Lacura dupe version of the Laura Mercier £45 bath honey
A best-selling Aldi bath product has returned to the Specialbuys aisle after being sold out for months and shoppers say it’s a dupe of a £45 version from Laura Mercier. The Lacura Vanilla Honey Golden Bath Nectar comes in at £5.99 and it’s perfect for soaking away the day in the tub.
The bargain beauty buy sold out faster than any other Lacura beauty line ever has after it was introduced in January, and it’s easy to see why, having picked up a tub when it returned to stores on Sunday (May 15).
The Laura Mercier version has been praised by shoppers and celebrities alike, including former Love Islander Molly-Mae Hague. The product has frequently been spotted in pictures of her bathtub in the home she shares with Tommy Fury.
Aldi’s version is £39 cheaper than the luxury brand and customers have raved about the ‘amazing’ dupe online, saying it creates even more bubbles than the expensive brand.
JedwardsJarro99 said: “Amazing dupe for Honey Bath by LM. Smells lovely packaging is very nearly identical and actually bubbles more in the bath than the real thing!”
LB94 added: “I bought this after seeing it all over TikTok, it smells amazing and foams up really well. And saves you £40 compared to other brands.”
Trying it for myself I discovered that Lacura’s Vanilla Honey Golden Bath Nectar smells incredible with calming scents of vanilla and honey. The pot of golden, shimmery bath cream also comes with a wooden honey dipper that you can run under the tap to create a mound of bubbles to sink into.
To avoid making a mess, you have to dunk the dipper in the soak and then spin it between your fingers so the product doesn’t drip before you run it beneath the tap. I found that three dippers worth of product created the perfect amount of bubbles,
My long hot bath felt extremely luxurious and there’s no way you’d catch me paying £45 for a bubble bath when this one is the price of a gin and lemonade. Molly-Mae might want to pop down to her local Aldi and save a few quid.
Jada Jones, our Central Reviews Writer, used this Aldi PawPaw dupe
On a no makeup day I only used Lacura's Pawpaw ointment on my face and really liked the finish. Aldi is back with a dupe of another popular brand, and this time its multipurpose.
The supermarket has released a range of PawPaw ointments for £1.49 that people are comparing to the wildly popular Dr PawPaw. The ointments are multipurpose and although I find them a little too thick for use on hands they make an excellent lip balm for when your pout needs a little attention.
Coming in classic, aloe vera and a macadamia nut option you have options, my personal favourite has to be the aloe vera. The balm has a nice scent that reminds me of shea butter with a touch of vanilla.
Lacura's PawPaw Ointment
It helps soothe dry and chapped skin which I've mainly used for my lips and the occasional dry patch near my eyes. You can also use it to relieve the itch of insect bites which makes this ideal as the weather heats up and if you're planning on heading abroad.
Not only that but it can add finishing touches to your hair and eyebrows. As someone with quite thick eyebrows I don't tend to do much to them when getting ready for the day, but I did pop some on and found that it held them in place quite nicely.
I think if you're travelling and need to take full advantage of your limited space then this 25g ointment is a great option as it really does do a lot. While it does suggest that you can use it on your hands, I would recommend only in very small amounts as it initially feels greasy before soaking into your skin.
If you're looking for a bargain then Aldi has you covered and you can pick up the balm in store or online here. Dr PawPaw's multipurpose balm is just £4.50 at time of writing over on Amazon if you want to see for yourself which one is better.
