The amount of farm land being sold in south west Scotland rose by more than two-thirds in the space of just 12 months.
A new Scottish Land Commission report shows that 4,570 hectares changed hands in 2021, compared to 2,713 the year before.
The organisation has been looking into the changing face of Scotland’s land ownership with new motivations for buying land including investment opportunities and the ability to offset carbon emissions.
