A woman has tragically died and three properties were damaged in a huge house fire in the early hours of Saturday.
The blaze broke out in Withernsea, East Yorkshire, at 1.45am, with emergency services rushing to the scene.
A witness reported a large presence of firefighters, ambulance workers and police.
Despite efforts by the emergency services, a woman in the home was pronounced dead.
Humberside Police added that two neighbouring properties were also damaged in the fire.
Bannister Street and Seaside Road have been closed while investigations continue into the cause of the fire.
This morning, police advised members of the public to avoid the area, reports HullLive.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a fire at a house on Bannister Street in Withernsea. Humberside Fire and Rescue, ambulance and police were called at 1.45am today (Saturday 11 March) to reports of a fire at a house.
"Emergency services worked to extinguish the fire and get the occupants out of the building. Sadly, despite their efforts, a woman was pronounced deceased within the address.
"There will be a scene guard in place today as emergency services continue to work together to establish the cause of the fire. If anyone is able to help with our investigations, please call us on 101 quoting log 31 11 March 2023."
