The calvary is coming for the New England Patriots’ injury-plagued offensive line, and it could arrive as soon as Thursday’s AFC East divisional clash with the Buffalo Bills.
Per MassLive’s Mark Daniels, Patriots center and team captain David Andrews could be ready to return to the offensive line unit that was missing two starters in the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Both offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn and Andrews were out for that game, but the latter could be nearing a return after the comments he reportedly made on Monday.
“Good. Ready to go. Excited for the opportunity and looking forward to it,” said Andrews, when asked how he was feeling ahead of the game against the Bills.
Andrews being reinserted at center would be a huge boost to the overall communication for the struggling offensive line. Even without Von Miller on the other side of the ball, the Bills still have a nasty defensive front capable of wrecking the game for the Patriots offense.
James Ferentz, who has served as the top backup for Andrews, admitted the veteran offensive lineman couldn’t be replaced with just one player, and it has certainly looked that way in recent games.
The final hurdle will be Andrews actually getting cleared to suit up and play in a game that could have massive playoff ramifications for the Patriots.
