Huge Harry Kane and Gabriel Jesus claim made ahead of Arsenal vs Tottenham

Who will come out on top of the battle between Harry Kane and Gabriel Jesus during this weekend's North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham?

This is the key question that will be answered alongside others as Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte both look to make a huge statement early on in this season's Premier League title race.

Arsenal come into this one a single point ahead of the Lilywhites and based on the recent history of clashes at the Emirates Stadium, this should be a nailed-on home victory.

One factor that will decide things will be who shows up more and stands up to the challenge- Jesus or Kane? Both strikers have been in fine form in the Premier League so far in 2022/23, registering a combined 10 goals from the first 14 domestic fixtures.

Tottenham's No.10 has been able to carry on his fine form during the international break as he was picked by Gareth Southgate to captain England again. A decision that culminated in the 29-year-old netting the penalty to complete the comeback at the time against Germany earlier this week.

Meanwhile, his striking counterpart Jesus, was not picked by Brazil coach Tite meaning Arsenal's No.9 was allowed to stay behind at London Colney to recuperate and take a step back from the limelight.

Arguably the Brazilian will be more well rested due to his break but Kane may have the edge in this one with his match sharpness that has been maintained courtesy of his involvement with the Three Lions ahead of the Qatar World Cup.

Ahead of the early kick-off on Saturday, former Premier League defender Glen Johnson has made a claim that could upset fans of both teams. Johnson picked Kane as the better striker overall - but contradicts himself by stating that Jesus edges the 'all-round' aspect of the battle.

"I'm a fan of both but I have to go for Kane. I'm a big fan of Jesus, but Kane is a proper goalscorer," he told SafeBettingSites. "Jesus' all-round game is better, but if you've got a goalscoring opportunity to win the game then I think Kane is the man."

Arsenal and Tottenham fans - will Gabriel Jesus not playing during the international break give him the edge over Harry Kane in this battle at the weekend? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
