  • A significant fire erupted at the Tata Steelplant in Port Talbot , south Wales, on Wednesday evening, with fire crews working overnight to extinguish the blaze.
  • All staff members were safely evacuated from the site and accounted for, while emergency services, including Mid and West Wales Fire Service, remained at the scene.
  • Large plumes of smoke were visible rising from the plant, which is known for producing steel for various industries such as automotive, construction and aerospace.
  • Tata Steel confirmed on Thursday morning that emergency services were still on site, and clarified that the incident was unrelated to a "safe and successful" demolition of a redundant gas holder earlier that day.
