Huge delays are in store for Kilmarnock drivers with roadworks set to last three months getting underway next week.
Queen's Drive in Kilmarnock will be heavily disrupted due to Scottish Water works, and motorists are being urged to avoid if possible from Monday.
According to signs on the street, works are set to go on for around 12 weeks with the busy road being a major link to the likes of Glasgow and Ayr from the town centre.
Adjoining Lawson Street will be closed from January 9, with the closure remaining in place until at least February 6.
There is also a temporary prohibition of waiting order on Welbeck Street, again lasting until at least February 6.
An Ayrshire Roads Alliance notice read: "Temporary Road Closure – Lawson Street, Kilmarnock, Town Centre, from its junction Welbeck Street for approx 50m.
