HSE urging people to get booster vaccines at walk-in clinics

The HSE is urging people to get their booster jabs at walk-in clinics this weekend.

The advice comes following a rise in Covid-19 cases across Ireland. Nearly 2,600 cases were reported on Wednesday including 1,280 PCR infections and 1,314 positive antigen tests.

The total death toll stands at 7,620 in Ireland. Walk-in clinics are currently open in Dublin and Kildare for those who are eligible to get a Covid-19 vaccine or booster shot.

Members of the public have been advised to check their eligibility online before they schedule an appointment. A notice from the HSE reads: "If you are in the 16+ age group you need to wait three months (at least 90 days) after your first round of Covid-19 vaccination before you can get a booster and if you had Covid-19 since you were vaccinated, you should get your booster dose at least three months after your positive test result.

"If you are in the 12-15 age group you need to wait six months (at least 179 days) after receiving your second dose of Covid-19 vaccination before you can get a booster and if you had Covid-19 since you were vaccinated, you should get your booster dose at least six months after your positive test result."
