HSE to take 'no further action' after probe into Kincaidston explosion that destroyed homes

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will take no further action after an investigation into an Ayr explosion which left a family-of-four seriously injured.

No one will be prosecuted after a major probe which rocked four homes in Gorse Park, Kincaidston last October.

The investigation into the blast has now concluded.

Two children, aged 12 and 16, and their mum and dad, aged, 43, and 47 were rushed to hospital after the incident on October 18.

Residents directly affected by the explosion have been informed that no further action will be taken.

In a letter seen by Ayrshire Live, HSE confirmed it will not submit a report to the procurator fiscal and Crown Office service.

HSE inspectors spent months combing through the wreckage at the site where four homes once stood.

Tonight, they have confirmed that no further action will be taken.

An HSE spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with those impacted by this incident.

“Having investigated it fully, the HSE will be taking no further action.”
