NEW DELHI: Indian shuttlers HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen have opted out of the Syed Modi International, diminishing the excitement for the Super 300 badminton tournament set to commence in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Asian Games bronze medallist HS Prannoy, recovering from a back injury, showcased his form by reaching the semifinals at the China Masters Super 750. However, Canada Open winner Lakshya Sen, currently ranked world No. 17, has experienced a dip in performance, facing six first-round exits since August.
