Hoyeon Jung Covers AnOther Magazine's 25th Anniversary Issue, Shot by Roe Ethridge

Hoyeon Jung is the cover star of AnOther Magazine's Issue 51, the Autumn/Winter 2026 edition marking the publication's 25th anniversary. The South Korean model and actress fronts the new fashion cover photographed by Roe Ethridge, wearing Louis Vuitton throughout the story. Styling for the shoot comes from longtime AnOther collaborator Katie Shillingford, and the accompanying interview finds Jung reflecting on her feature-film debut rather than her modeling résumé alone.

The cover looks include a dress, choker and pumps by Louis Vuitton, a jumpsuit and hat by Louis Vuitton, and a separate dress-and-trouser pairing, also by Louis Vuitton, continuing a partnership that dates back a decade: Jung became a Louis Vuitton exclusive model in 2016 and was named a global brand ambassador in 2021, making the house's dominance across the AnOther pages a natural extension of that relationship rather than a one-off styling choice.

The cover lands as Jung's first starring film role, "Hope," directed by Na Hong-jin, opens in North American theaters. "Hope," scheduled to open in North America on September 9, is Na's fourth feature and his first film in a decade, following "The Chaser," "The Yellow Sea" and "The Wailing." The film premiered earlier this year in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where Jung walked the red carpet alongside co-stars Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Taylor Russell.

In the AnOther interview, Jung describes an intense physical preparation process for the role. She says the production spent roughly six months in pre-production under a director she calls uncompromising, and that she trained with firearms and in weightlifting, gaining four kilograms of muscle mass for the part. For a car-chase sequence, Jung notes she had previously only driven automatic vehicles and had to earn a manual license, undergoing race training, drift instruction and learning to execute a J-turn. She adds that the sense of achievement from difficult takes, after the long buildup, made the experience worthwhile.

Asked about her attraction to unconventional projects, Jung says that isn't her stated criteria for choosing roles; instead, she looks to work with filmmakers and creators she admires and to learn from directors and fellow actors, adding that the tendency toward boundary-breaking work may simply reflect her taste.

For AnOther, the pairing of Jung with photographer Roe Ethridge is notable in its own right. Ethridge, whose commercial and fine-art photography has appeared in Allure, the New York Times Magazine and Wired, is known for blending straightforward fashion imagery with a more conceptual, art-photography sensibility, a style that gives the AW26 cover story a distinct visual identity compared with Jung's earlier magazine work, including her 2022 solo Vogue cover shot by Harley Weir.

The AW26 issue continues Jung's run as one of the most consistently in-demand cover subjects to emerge from Squid Game, and it reinforces the Louis Vuitton-Jung pairing as one of the more visible model-brand relationships in fashion media right now. With "Hope" opening theatrically and awards conversation likely to follow given its Cannes competition slot, the AnOther cover gives fans and search interest around the film a fashion-forward companion piece timed almost exactly to the release date.
