‘Howay the lads’ - Newcastle United sent joyous Nottingham Forest message after Everton favour

Nottingham Forest remain outside of the relegation zone, following Everton’s loss against Newcastle United on Thursday night.

Eddie Howe's team travelled to a raucous Goodison Park, with Everton looking to pick up the points in order to move out of the bottom three. A win for the Toffees would have moved them back above Forest.

The Reds moved out of the bottom three on Wednesday night after recording a memorable win over Brighton and Hove Albion at the City Ground. 24 hours later, Forest fans were keeping an eye on the game at Goodison Park.

And they would have been cheering every Newcastle goal that went in. Strikes from Callum Wilson (x2), Joelinton and Jacob Murphy gave the Magpies a comfortable 4-1 win.

That result leaves Everton in 19th place in the Premier League table, two points adrift of Forest, ahead of the weekend’s game. Forest travel to take on Brentford, while Everton take on Leicester City away on Monday night.

Following Newcastle’s win, Forest fans took to social media to give their reaction. Here’s what just some had to say.
