How UK fans can get first AEW All In London tickets as big name wrestlers hint at Wembley appearances

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced they are bringing the UK's biggest professional wrestling event in more than three decades to Wembley Stadium this summer - but fans wanting to get their hands on the first tickets need to act now.

Up to 90,000 fans are expected to attend AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 27 for the show, which was announced live by the brand's CEO and Fulham FC owner Tony Khan alongside British wrestling legend-turned-commentator and new AEW signing Nigel McGuinness.

But it's not just fans of AEW who are keen to be part of the event, which will see the first tickets going on sale via Ticketmaster early next month.

With AEW having previously worked with Japanese wrestling promotion NJPW on the Forbidden Door event, fans are speculating that some of New Japan's big names might be coming to Wembley for the occasion - with several taking to social media to hint they'd be up for a trip to the UK capital.

Mercedes Varnado, current NJPW's IWGP Women's Champion, caused a stir with fans on Twitter yesterday, seemingly sounding out a potential British opponent.

The star, who previously wrestled in WWE under the name Sasha Banks and has an up-and-coming acting career including a major role in Disney+'s The Mandalorian, would undoubtedly be a major draw if she signed up for the event.

Meanwhile, one of the UK's best known wrestling exports, Will Ospreay, took to Twitter with an enigmatic two word response to news of the show:

Essex-born Ospreay, who is currently flying high with New Japan and whose story has been immortalised in a documentary about his life, is returning from injury this weekend at 1PW's All Or Nothing event but posted a video indicating his time in the squared circle might be coming to an end. Could he retire on home turf in the UK's biggest wrestling show since Summerslam 92?

He said: "I’m going to come back, and I’m going to the best of my ability do this as much as I physically can." He added: "I don’t know how long this ride is going to be. I hope you guys enjoy the ride, that’s all."

Possible cameos aside, AEW already boasts a strong roster of British talent, including Saraya - who was formerly known as Paige in WWE and the subject of Hollywood movie Fighting With My Family - former Olympian Anthony Ogogo, Pac, Jamie Hayter and McGuinness who is working both as a commentator and behind-the-scenes.

While it's not immediately clear which of these are likely to appear on the card for the London event, expectations are high not just for the home-grown stars within AEW but also the inclusion of additional British wrestling talent.

Saraya recently told The Mirror she'd love members of her family, the Knight wrestling dynasty which includes her mum, dad and brother Zak Zodiac who has previously appeared on AEW by her side, to get a chance to get involved in the show.

General sale tickets for AEW All In will go on sale on Friday, May 5 at 9am via Ticketmaster and Live Nation, but a special presale will also take place on Tuesday, May 2 from 11am.

To get hold of the first tickets for the event, fans have to pre-register by signing up at www.ticketmaster.co.uk/AEWWembley for pre-sale access, with wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reporting that more than 45,000 people have already done so since details were first revealed.

This summer is set to be a big one for British wrestling fans. WWE is currently preparing to stage its second UK pay per view in a year at The O2 in July with Money in the Bank, while AEW's UK debut will be the brand's biggest ever show anywhere in the world.

AEW has a strong following in the UK thanks to it appearing on free-to-air channels, with its shows regularly getting the highest ratings on ITV4. Some fans also pay a premium to watch additional content on the brand's streaming platform AEW+ on Fite.tv.

Speaking shortly after the All In announcement, Tony Khan said: "The UK is one of the most important markets in professional wrestling, and AEW is coming in hot as the number one wrestling company in the UK on television.

"We want our debut in London to be epic in scale, and there’s no better venue than Wembley Stadium to deliver what I know will be one of the greatest events in AEW’s history. This April also marks 100 years of Warner Bros. and 100 years of Wembley Stadium, so it’s a fitting time to come together for ‘AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium."
