Scotland are eyeing their best ever start to a Six Nations campaign as they face Wales at Murrayfield today.
Last week’s win at Twickenham, their third in a row, has set the stage perfectly for Gregor Townsend and his players as they look to become the first Scotland side ever to win their first two matches in this competition.
In both 2021 and 2022, Scotland followed opening wins over England with a defeat to Wales the following week, a pattern they will be desperate to break this afternoon.
Up against a Welsh side evidently lacking in confidence, there is every chance they do just that. Warren Gatland has, unsurprisingly, been unable to immediately turn the team’s fortunes around, and they were swept aside by Ireland in Cardiff in round one.
