While Kansas City Chiefs fans will have to wait another week for their team’s preseason debut, the NFL season officially kicks off tonight in Canton, Ohio with the 2022 Hall of Fame Game.
The Las Vegas Raiders will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first football game of the 2022 NFL season. It’s the first time that the Jaguars have participated in the match since their inaugural NFL season back in 1995. It’s the first time the Raiders have taken part in the game since they moved to Las Vegas, with their last appearance in the Hall of Fame Game coming in 2006.
Both teams will take the field with new head coaches, with former Chiefs OC Doug Pederson coaching Jacksonville and former Patriots OC Josh McDaniels coaching the Raiders. Both Pederson and McDaniels have said they’ll rest their starters for the game, but that shouldn’t dissuade you from watching. There are always a few exciting moments as the backups compete and work to earn a roster spot during the preseason.
