The 2022 World Cup is fast approaching and soon people from around the world will be tuning in to watch the tournament in Qatar. England are heading to the tournament with a strong team and Gareth Southgate will be hoping to go finally get over the line and win silverware with the men's team.
But they also have a lot of tough competition. Brazil and Argentina will both be hoping to bring the trophy back to South America while France will be hoping to retain the trophy after winning it in 2018.
But when is the opening ceremony, which stadium will it be hosted in and when does the first match start? Find out below:

When does the World Cup start?
Date: 18th November 2022
Opening Ceremony Start Time: 3pm UK time.
Stadium: Al Khor’s Al Bayt Stadium (60,000 capacity)
K-Pop singer Jungkook has been confirmed to perform alongside Robbie Williams. Rumours have also suggested Shakira may make an appearance however that is unconfirmed, while Dua Lipa has distanced herself from suggestions that she would take the stage.
When is the opening match?
There is only one game on the opening day of the tournament in Group A. Hosts Qatar will face Ecuador at the Al Khor's Al Bayt Stadium after the opening ceremony has concluded.
The match kicks off at 4pm and will be available to watch in the UK on BBC One and BBC I-Player. The highlights will be available after the game of FIFA's Official Youtube.
