Tom Lawrence then fired home from a long-range free-kick after a howler from Walter Benitez in the Dutch goal but his blushes were spared by Armando Obispo.
That Ibrox four goal thriller has left for a huge night in the second clash between the pair with both clubs dreaming of mixing it at Europe's top table this season. For Rangers, they will be desperate to join Ange Postecoglou and Celtic in the next stage.
