How to watch Portugal vs Turkey - TV channel, live stream details and early team news

Portugal will be looking to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup alive when they face Turkey in their play-off semi-final on Thursday evening at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto.

The 2016 European Championship winners missed out on automatic qualification for the tournament in Qatar back in November after finishing second in Group A behind Serbia. Portugal faced the Serbs in their final group match and were beaten 2-1, courtesy of a 90th-minute winner from striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

It meant that Serbia won the group by three points, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates to face the lottery of the play-offs. Should they beat Turkey, they will face either Italy or North Macedonia in a play-off final next Tuesday for a place in Qatar.

Whatever happens in each semi-final, at least one of the two big-name international footballing powerhouses will miss out on joining the likes of England, Germany and Spain at the finals later this year. Considering Manchester United star Ronaldo is now 37, this could represent his last chance to play in a World Cup and lift the trophy for the first time.

With a huge prize at stake, Portugal will be looking to see off Turkey without too much hesitance. With that said, here are all of the details on how you can watch United and Manchester City stars, such as Diogo Dalot, Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo in action.

What TV channel is it on?

The contest will be screened live on Sky Sports' Premier League channel. The programme starts at 7:40pm ahead of kick-off just five minutes later at 7:45pm.

The programme will conclude almost immediately after full-time at 9:45pm. However, it will be extended if the contest goes to extra-time and penalties.

Is there a live stream?

If you don't have a Sky Sports subscription, you can watch the game by purchasing a NOW TV pass. You can purchase one of those for a 24-hour period, meaning you can buy one purely for the match.

What is the early team news?

Portugal will be without City duo Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo this evening. Dias is out injured whilst the latter is ruled out through suspension.

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has been forced to pull out through injury, handing manager Fernando Santos a major selection blow. Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Renato Sanches also misses out through suspension, but is injured anyway.

Turkey, meanwhile, have no injury and suspension concerns to worry about. The Turks, who are underdogs, have not reached the World Cup since 2002.
