How to watch One Tree Hill online — stream every episode from anywhere

The cast of One Tree Hill.

They don't make teen dramas like they used to in the early noughties. That's why there's nothing better than returning to the fictional North Carolina town of Tree Hill, where only high school basketball and cheerleading matters — and all the drama that ensues when the two sides mix is utterly bingeable. Centring half brothers and rivals Lucas and Nathan Scott, you can now watch all nine seasons of "One Tree Hill" for free on ITVX. Read on as we explain how to watch "One Tree Hill" online from anywhere and for free with a VPN.

First airing in 2003, "One Tree Hill" ran for a total of 9 seasons, with its finale wrapping over a decade ago in 2012. Starring Chad Michael-Murray and James Lafferty as main characters Lucas and Nathan, the premise of the show follows the rival half-brothers as they begin to compete in all parts of their lives, from basketball to girls.

Encouraged by his Uncle Keith and the school basketball coach, Whitey (Barry Corbin) to join the team, the Hill Tree Ravens, Lucas steps into Nathan's world and threatens to take away all he's worked for. And while Nathan may have had the more privileged upbringing as the son Dan Scott (Paul Johanasson) chose to claim, he also bears the weight of his father's expectations and the fulfillment of his own dashed dreams.

Not only is Nathan threatened by Lucas' performance on the court, his brother also appears to have his eye on Nathan's girlfriend, Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton). The only possible way to retaliate? To try it on with Lucas' best friend, Haley James (Bethany Joy Lenz), of course.

But with high school basketball stardom comes more than just locking horns with the half brother that had, up until now, practically ignored his existence. There's also social stardom, with cheer captain Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) setting her sights on Lucas, too.

Promising plenty of teen drama and angst (particularly in the first four seasons), "One Tree Hill" is one of those long-running shows from your own adolescence that packs plenty of heart and warmth, exploring life in all its peaks and troughs through relationships, loss, college, careers, infidelity, and beyond.

Available to watch for free in the U.K. on ITVX, grab yourself a coffee at Karen's Cafe and settle down for hours and hours of sweet, sweet noughties teen drama. Find all the details below on how to watch "One Tree Hill" online wherever you are in the world.

Watch 'One Tree Hill' from abroad

Away from home at the moment and blocked from watching "One Tree Hill" on your usual streaming service or subscription?

You can still watch the show thanks to the wonders of a VPN (Virtual Private Network). The software allows your devices to appear to be back in your home country regardless of where in the world you are. That's ideal for viewers away on vacation or on business. Our favorite is NordVPN. It's the best on the market:

Using a VPN is incredibly simple.

1. Install the VPN of your choice. As we've said, NordVPN is our current favorite.

2. Choose the location you wish to connect to in the VPN app. For instance, if you're away from the U.K. and want to view a U.K. service, you'd select a U.K.-based server from the list.

3. Sit back and enjoy the action. Head to your streaming service of choice, ITVX for example, to watch the show.
