How to watch Obi-Wan Kenobi for free on Disney+

May 4 has in recent years become the day to celebrate all things Star Wars, with people marking the day with the phrase May the 4th be with you in homage to the Jedi Masters' greeting 'May the Force be with you.'

For Star Wars fans this year, May 4th brings much to look forward to - with Disney Plus packed with more Star Wars content to watch than ever, from the movie saga from A New Hope to The Last Jedi, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, animated shows like The Clone Wars and Rebels. There's even the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special, although sadly the infamously surreal 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special is oddly missing.

The most anticipated part of May for many Star Wars fans is actually a little later in the month. After much anticipation, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be hitting Disney Plus for the first time.

Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will be reprising their roles from the Star Wars prequels, with the show tackling the aftermath of Obi-Wan Kenobi's greatest and most personal defeat, the downfall and corruption of his one-time friend and apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side and became evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Ewan McGregor reprises his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a Disney+ TV series about the Star Wars character (Lucasfilm Ltd.)

Picking up the tale a decade after their bruising battle, the six-part show will also star Rupert Friend, Joel Edgerton and Kumail Nanjiani, with the first two episodes premiering on May 27 and the rest being released weekly.

But Disney Plus is not just home to all things Star Wars. Thanks to the company's acquisitions, Mickey Mouse has been joined by everything from the latest Marvel TV shows, all the formerly Netflix Marvel shows (especially Daredevil and Jessica Jones), every single Disney movie including Encanto, Broadway hit Hamilton, Stephen Spielberg's Oscar-winning West Side Story and 18 seasons of Greys Anatomy.

While Disney Plus costs £7.99 a month with no contract, there are ways to save money on your subscription. If you know that you're going to be watching it year round then you can effectively get two months of the year free by paying an annual fee of £79.90 a year instead.

But if you are a Tesco Clubcard customer, you can get it totally free. Simply buy a three month subscription to the service for £8-worth of points using Clubcard Boost, effectively meaning you get it totally free.
