United are just three points off Liverpool in fourth place and the Reds are not in action until New Year’s Day when they play Leeds at Anfield.
Chelsea are also in action today against Bournemouth, but if the Blues slip-up then United will move fourth with a win.
Amorim will be confident of beating a Wolves side rock-bottom of the table and who look doomed to relegation to the Championship.
Amorim switched up his system against Newcastle when he played with a back four and he seems likely to stick with that formation given United are still dealing with injury issues and players away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
