Manchester City can cut the points gap at the top of the Premier League table to just two when hosting Newcastle United this weekend.
Arsenal winning easily against Everton on Wednesday extended their lead over City to five points, but Pep Guardiola's side can more than halve that deficit before Mikel Arteta's team play their weekend match. The visit of Newcastle is a difficult one on the face of it against the side sitting just three places behind them in the standings, but the beaten Carabao Cup finalists have seen their form dip since the World Cup break.
Eddie Howe's team have won just one of their last seven Premier League games since convincingly beating Leicester City on Boxing Day. Five of these fixtures ended in a draw as well as one defeat, which was their last league outing against Liverpool.

Team news
