The London Marathon is upon us as one of the signature events on the capital’s calendar proudly takes centre stage once more.
This is the last time the iconic race will take place in the autumn before moving back to its usual April window following the Covid-19 pandemic in 2023.
Unfortunately a hip injury has cost Mo Farah the chance to run his first marathon since 2019 this morning, with other big-name withdrawals giving the 42nd running of this major event a lack of star power.
Eliud Kipchoge instead chose to run the faster Berlin Marathon last weekend, smashing his own world record by 30 seconds with a stunning display.
However, there is still plenty to look forward to on the streets of London in both the elite races and with millions set to be raised for deserving charities in the mass participation event.
