Event trailer
Main event
In the headliner, Bruno Souza takes on Edgars Skrivers.
Souza is a Brazilian student of former UFC champion Lyoto Machida and a former UFC fighter himself. Souza won LFA’s featherweight title in 2021, then came to the UFC. But there, he dropped a pair of decisions to Melsik Baghdasaryan and Luis Saldana, the latter of which came in March.
Skrivers, a former lightweight champion from Latvia, is coming off the first loss of his career, a decision to Luiz Victor Rocha that saw him surrender the title. Skrivers is hoping a win over Souza will get him a shot at Rocha and the belt he once held. If that happens, it’ll be a trilogy fight. Skrivers and Rocha are tied at 1-1.
James Vick's Karate Combat debut
Former UFC fighter James Vick ended his retirement and signed with Karate Combat earlier this year. The 35-year-old walked away from MMA in early 2021 after 14 fights in the UFC. He went 8-1 to start his UFC tenure, but then ran into a rough patch. In March, he tried his hands at boxing and won his debut by knockout.
