Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the event of the year in the capital - thousands of people from across the globe to take part in all the shows, events and daily activities throughout the month of August. Comedians, performers and various art lovers come to Edinburgh every year to share their talents with the streets of the capital.
But, if you can't make it along to the Festival Fringe, can you still watch some of the shows? The short answer is - yes. Many of the Fringe shows take place online, and can be accessed through the website.

How can I watch the Edinburgh Festival Fringe online?
Online shows at the Fringe fall into one of two categories on their website: scheduled or on demand. Scheduled shows take place at a specific date and time, and can only be accessed at these points.
Whereas, an on-demand show can be viewed at any time during it's run at the Fringe. Filtering for these shows can be done on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe website.

How do I access the online Fringe shows?
Searching for these shows is simple on the website. All you need to do is:
- Access the Edinburgh Festival Fringe here.
- Click 'Advanced search' in the top right corner of the search bar.
- Select 'How to watch'.
- Use the checkboxes to choose what type of shows you are looking for - AKA online on demand, or online scheduled.
Once you have booked a viewing of the show, your EdFringe account will be updated with information on how to watch it when the Fringe begins. You will need to be logged into your Edinburgh Festival Fringe account to access the shows you have booked.
Where can I watch the Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows online?
You'll be able to watch all online Fringe shows via laptop, desktop computer or any mobile device. Most shows - such as those hosted on YouTube and on the Fringe Player platform - will also support casting to televisions where possible.
