The preseason officially begins as the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears face one another in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday.
The newest Pro Football Hall of Fame class will be enshrined on Saturday, but the festivities begin with the beginning of the preseason.
The Texans are coming off a shocking 2023 season in which quarterback C.J. Stroud won Offensive Rookie of the Year and led a team expected to be the worst in the league to a division title and playoff win. In the offseason, they added receiver Stefon Diggs and pass rusher Danielle Hunter.
The Bears moved on from quarterback Justin Field and selected quarterback Caleb Williams first overall in the 2024 NFL.
Neither Stroud nor Williams will play in the Hall of Fame Game. Starters from both teams will sit out.
Tyson Bagent will make the start for the Bears, while Davis Mills is likely to be in the lineup for Houston.
