You can find the lighthouse within the Calamari Canyon POI on the Fortnite island. It’s specifically located near the coast of this region, quite close to the west end of the area and the very edge of the island. It’s a tall, bright red and white building that sticks out against the harsh, yellow desert landscape, so you can’t miss it once you’re in the general right area.

You can complete the use the lighthouse beam to reveal a hidden rare chest quest by activating the lighthouse and opening one of the chests it marks. This is a fairly complex process, so if you’re having trouble, here’s a full breakdown of how to get it done.

  • Travel to the lighthouse. You can find this tall building situated near the west end of Calamari Canyon, fairly close to the water and edge of the map.
  • Go all the way up to the top. If you head to the lighthouse straight out of the battle bus, you can land up on the balcony to reach the top right away. Otherwise, you’ll have to go up all of the stairs inside to traverse up to the top area.

  • Locate and interact with the light. In the center of the room on the top floor, you’ll find the massive lighthouse light. Walk up to it and press the button that appears next to the word “Ignite” to turn it on.
  • Exit to the balcony and follow the light. Once the light is on, head outside to the balcony area on the top floor. Watch the lighthouse light as it circles around the nearby area. Look for a bright purple beam in the sky, which will appear as the light moves, marking a nearby chest.
  • Open one of the lighthouse chests. Head to any of the purple beams to open the chest that’s marked. Each one is only visible for a short period of time as the lighthouse beam is shining in their direction, so you have to act fast to open one.

As soon as you open any rare chest marked by the lighthouse beam at Calamari Canyon, this special mission will be complete. The beam continuously circles the area endlessly once you’ve activated it, so if you don’t make it to the chest you have your eye on in time, simply move on to the next one to get loot from it, or wait for the beam to circle back to you.
