Ryu’s Cursed Technique, Cursed Energy Discharge, was added to Jujutsu Zero with the Ryu Update, and it’s easily one of the best Cursed Techniques in the game right now, thanks to its loaded moveset. But to unlock the best move of Cursed Energy Discharge, you need to complete a few quests and collect some rare materials. This guide will help you do exactly that and unlock Maximum Output in Jujutsu Zero (the Domain Expansion for Cursed Energy Discharge).
How to Unlock Ryu’s Domain Expansion in Jujutsu Zero
Once you’ve obtained the Cursed Energy Discharge Cursed Technique from the CT gacha, grind quests to farm Cursed Energy Discharge Mastery. You’ll need just over 100 Mastery to unlock all the moves.
You’ll only need Mastery and Yen to unlock the first three moves (Sky Beam, Granite Assault, and Max Discharge). Once these four moves are unlocked, you can then unlock Maximum Output, which is the Domain Expansion for the Cursed Energy Discharge CT.
You’ll need the following items/materials to unlock Maximum Output in Jujutsu Zero:
- 50 Mastery
- 100,000 Yen
- 1x Domain Fragment
- 3x Energy Core
- 3x Hair Gel
Mastery and Yen are the easiest requirements to complete. You’ll probably already have these two requirements complete while you were farming Cursed Energy Discharge Mastery.
Domain Fragment in Jujutsu Zero is a Special Grade item that can be hard to get because it’s RNG-reliant and the drop chances are quite low. Farm and open lots and lots of Crates, and you’ll eventually get enough Domain Fragments.
Energy Core and Hair Gel are the two materials that will require you to complete separate quests. Read on to learn exactly how to get both these materials.
How to Get Energy Core and Hair Gel in Jujutsu Zero
The two main materials to unlock Maximum Output in Jujutsu Zero are Energy Core and Hair Gel. Both these items can be obtained by completing the quests of the Ancient Sorcerer NPC. If you are Level 500+, you’ll be able to see the exact location of the NPC on the map. However, if you’re below Level 500, you can’t see the marker or start his questline.
So, if you want to unlock the Cursed Energy Discharge Domain Expansion, make sure you are Level 700+ to be able to complete all the quests and unlock Maximum Output. To get 3x Energy Core and 3x Hair Gel, you’ll need to complete the following quests:

With all the items/materials collected, open Stats, go to Mastery, and you can now unlock the Maximum Output for Cursed Energy Discharge.

The best clan to use with the Cursed Energy Discharge Cursed Technique is the Ishigori Clan. It is a Special Grade clan that gives extra ATK, ATK%, DR%, CD%, CDR%, and CR% to Cursed Energy Discharge.
Hair Gel can be obtained by completing quests from the Ancient Sorcerer NPC. The NPC can be found in the center of the map, standing on a wooden bridge.
To spawn the Ryu mini-boss, talk to the Ancient Sorcerer NPC and start his third quest (Fight with Passion and Style). The boss spawns to the right of the bridge on which the Ancient Sorcerer NPC is standing.
