The Mammoth LMG is one of the new weapons arriving in Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 5. Unlike other seasonal guns, it is not available in the Battle Pass. Instead, you can obtain the Mammoth through the limited-time Machine of War event.
Here’s how you can unlock the new LMG fast in BO7 and Warzone, along with how it compares to other weapons in its class.
How to unlock the Mammoth LMG in Black Ops 7 & Warzone fast
The Mammoth LMG is earned by participating in the Machine of War event. During this event, you’ll collect Fuel Cans while playing BO7 Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame, and Warzone, then exchange them for event rewards.
Activision has not yet revealed exactly how Fuel Cans are obtained. Based on previous exchange-style events, they’re likely to drop from eliminations and by opening loot caches. The total number of Fuel Cans needed to unlock the Mammoth also hasn’t been announced. We’ll update this guide once Activision confirms the Fuel Can requirements as well as the fastest farming methods.
There’s also a chance that the Mammoth will receive a weapon blueprint in a Season 5 store bundle. If you don’t unlock the base weapon before the fifth season ends, it should become available through Armory Challenges in the following season.
How does the Mammoth compare to other LMGs in BO7 & Warzone?
The Mammoth is built as a heavy-hitting LMG with excellent recoil control rather than fast handling. Compared to popular options like the Mk.78 and XM325, it has a slower fire rate, handling, and mobility, but offers higher damage output and better accuracy during sustained fire.
Its reciprocating barrel design keeps recoil manageable during extended firefights, making it a solid choice for long-range engagements and providing covering fire for teammates, particularly in battle royale matches over in Warzone. If you prefer a more aggressive playstyle, you should prioritize attachments that improve handling and mobility, such as Quickdraw Grip, Light Stock, and Fast Mag.

The Mammoth’s Prestige Attachment is the 14″ MFS Cascade Barrel, a specialized barrel that removes the weapon’s pre-fire delay and movement penalties while firing. It also improves ADS movement speed, recoil control, and bullet spread, making the LMG more effective during sustained firefights. The trade-off is a slower ADS time, so players should weigh the improved accuracy and mobility against the reduced responsiveness when aiming.

Similar to other Prestige Camos, these are universal, which means you can equip them on other weapons once unlocked.
