Even if its wide array of new mechanics and game modes took the center court, Mario Tennis Fever also steps up by providing fans with a roster of 38 playable characters. Getting all of them, though, will demand more than simply stacking up wins. Here’s how to unlock every single character in Mario Tennis Fever.

You can unlock new characters in Mario Tennis Fever as rewards by playing a certain number of matches, winning certain competitions, and completing both Trial Towers and Score Challenges. Keep in mind that, apart from their specific type (or archetype), each character also has access to signature abilities.

For example, while Princess Peach can perform extra-precise edge shots, Wario and Baby Wario’s topspins have a significantly lower charge time. You can check out how to unlock all of the characters below.

How To Unlock All Alternative Colors

While you work on unlocking the full roster, Fever also allows you to get multiple alternative colors for Shy Guy, Yoshi, Koopa Troopa, and Koopa Paratroopa, as well as the Lumalee skin for Luma. Here’s how to unlock all of them:

  • Luma (Lumalee): By playing 15 matches
  • Yoshi (Blue): By playing 25 matches
  • Shy Guy (Blue): By playing 35 matches
  • Koopa Troopa (Blue): By playing 45 matches
  • Koopa Paratroopa (Blue): By playing 55 matches
  • Yoshi (Light Blue): By playing 60 matches
  • Shy Guy (Green): By playing 65 matches
  • Koopa Troopa (Red): By playing 70 matches
  • Koopa Paratroopa (Green): By playing 75 matches
  • Yoshi (Orange): By playing 80 matches
  • Shy Guy (Light Blue): By playing 85 matches
  • Koopa Troopa (Yellow): By playing 90 matches
