How to start Sheogorath’s quest in ESO Season 1

The Daedric Prince of Madness has returned in ESO with a new quest named Sheogorath Takes a Holiday. It’s a free-for-all six-part questline as part of the game’s ongoing Season 1: Return of the Thieves Guild.

To start Sheogorath’s quest in ESO, head to the Crown Store and look for the Quest Starters menu. You can find the “Sheogorath Takes a Holiday” quest at the top of the featured section. Purchase it for free, and the quest will be added to your journal.

The next step is to talk to Noth, a devoted follower of Sheogorath in the Malabal Tor zone of ESO. If you have never been there, reaching it can be a bit tricky, but fret not; we’ve got you.

Quick Summary

  • Pick the quest from the Crown Store.
  • Head to the Malabal Tor zone via Grathwood.
  • Reach Stormhaven either via Wrothgar or Glenumbra.

How to reach the Malabal Tor zone in ESO

To reach Malabal Tor, go to Grahtwood, which is just below but slightly southeast of it on the Tamriel Map. In Grahtwood, it’s best to fast travel to the Elden Root Wayshrine.

From here, take the narrow pathway in the northeast corner and keep heading west until you reach the edge of the zone. The screenshot above should give you an idea of where you need to be heading. The path leading to Malabar Tor is beyond the Wormroot Depths, which you can spot on the map.

It’s pretty straightforward from here, at least for now. You can find Noth in the Baandari Trading Post. She will ask you to meet at the Shivering Shack in the Stormhaven zone, where the actual quest begins. A lot of unnecessary traveling, right?

How to reach the Stormhaven zone in ESO

There are two main ways to get to Stormhaven. You can either fast-travel to Glenumbra or Wrothgar and then walk to Stormhaven. In Glenumbra, fast-travel to the Daggerfall Wayshrine and continue walking northeast until you reach the border.

In Wrothgar, head to the Merchant’s Gate Wayshrine and continue walking northwest. We recommend taking this route as it’s relatively shorter, about 1.7km to the Shivering Shack in Stormhaven.

Once you have reached Stormhaven, it’s a straightforward walk to Shivering Shack. Once you’re there, talk to Noth to progress the quest.

Sheogorath’s quest in itself is pretty straightforward and self-explanatory. That said, we did run into a glitch in the first step of the quest, where you’re tasked with retrieving a tome for a ritual. Simply shutting down and restarting the game should fix the issue where the tome doesn’t appear after you have found it.

As for the rewards, completing the Sheograth Takes a Holiday quest will grant you Sheogorath’s Blessed Cheese emote and the Mad God’s Tomshell pet.
