The fleet system got an overhaul in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, both visually and mechanically. You can commandeer different types of ships and send them out across all of the Caribbean’s regions to complete missions.
Here’s everything you need to know about Fleet Missions in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
How to unlock and start Fleet Missions in AC Black Flag Resynced
The Fleet Missions unlock during the main story after you capture the Punta Guarico fort and establish the base on Great Inagua. To access the Fleet Missions, you can use the map in Jackdaw’s captain’s quarters or in the villa on Great Inagua.
Regions:At first, only one region for Fleet Missions is available. To unlock other regions, capture at least one fort there.
Select a mission, assign a ship, and launch it (Trade missions also require goods). Missions take up to 45 minutes, and once it’s completed, you’ll get a notification so that you can return to the map to collect the rewards.
The rewards depend on the mission:
- Trade: Reales
- Scout: Warehouse restocks
- Piracy: Trade goods (e.g., Rum or Tobacco) and material (e.g., Cloth)
- Patrol: Risk Level reduction
How to choose the right ship for Fleet Missions in AC Black Flag Resynced
When selecting a ship for the Fleet Mission, you must consider three things: ship type, ship health, and potential damage.
Every mission type requires a specific ship type:
- Trade: Schooner
- Piracy: Brig
- Scout: Frigate
- Patrol: Man o’ War
Every ship has a health pool. The maximum health depends on the ship’s rarity (one to three stars), with low-rarity ships having a lower chance of a successful mission. Regardless of the rarity, the ships take damage during missions based on the region’s Risk Level.
To lower the Risk Level and potential damage to the ships, you can either capture more forts around the region or complete Patrol missions.
How to add, remove, and repair fleet ships in AC Black Flag Resynced
As ships complete missions, they need repairs to avoid sinking. You can repair the ships using the fleet table on the Jackdaw. Select the ship in the Fleet tab and repair it using Reales, Cloth, Wood, and Metal. This is also where you can salvage ships to free up a Berth slot and get some materials back.
Once you have a free slot, commandeer a ship by boarding and capturing it. Find the ship you want for your fleet (use the Spyglass to determine the ship’s type), damage it until it’s low and has the grappling hook icon above its healthbar, get close, and board it. Kill the enemies and cut down the flag to lower the enemy’s morale until they surrender. Once captured, choose to send it to Kenway’s fleet.
How to get more Berth slots in AC Black Flag Resynced
You can have up to 10 ships in the fleet, so you must be selective when it comes to adding ships. A good rule of thumb is to have at least two ships of each type. Four Berth slots are available at first, but if you need more, unlock them by purchasing upgrades and spending Reales.
Here’s how to unlock all the Berth slots:
- Fifth slot: 5,000 Reales
- Sixth slot: 10,000 Reales
- Seventh slot: Restore Campfire at Great Inagua for 6,000 Reales
- Eighth slot: Restore Campfire at Great Inagua for 6,000 Reales
- Ninth slot: Upgrade Tower and Garden at Great Inagua for 8,000 Reales
- Tenth slot: Upgrade Guesthouse at Great Inagua for 20,000 Reales
The fifth and sixth slots are available for purchase directly in the Fleet menu. To unlock the rest, travel to Great Inagua and build the corresponding upgrades. The Campfire is on the shore past the Harbourmaster, and the rest are at the Manor.
