How to sell your home for free after Rightmove reveals March best month to sell up

House prices over the last couple of years have risen dramatically, and more people than ever are deciding now is the time to sell up.

Knowing when it’s time to sell your home can be tricky but certain factors can help you decide.

One thing that can actually have a big impact on sale success is the time of year.

Property website Rightmove has been looking at data from over the last five years, and has determined which months are the best and worst to get your property on the market.

Christmas is the worst time of year, with people distracted by the festive period, but it seems like once we’re into the new year people immediately start looking again.

March is the best month to sell your home, as it sees the highest number of people enquiring about properties.

Selling a property can be pricey though, and fees for things like estate agents and solicitors can soon add up and eat into your budget.

To get the most for your money, you may want to consider who you use to help sell your home.

One of the UK’s fastest-growing estate agents, Strike, can help you take care of selling your home - for free.

They offer a full estate agent service completely free of charge, including valuations and listings.

They even negotiate on your behalf to make sure you get the best possible offer.

You have the option of paying for add ons, such as marketing boosts that include video trailers and premium listings on Rightmove, or choosing to have an agent host viewings on your behalf so you don’t have to show people around.

Even if you choose not to add any extras, they’ll still sell your home from start to finish without you paying a penny.

There’s a handy tool on their website too that lets you see how much money you could save on average by choosing them.

For example, if you’re selling a £200,000 home, they estimate they could save you up to £3,000 in fees.

Their full range of services include:

  • Estate agency

  • Mortgage advice

  • Conveyancing

  • Moving services

If you stick to their free services, that means almost all the profit you make from your house can go straight in your pocket for you to use towards your new home.

With March fast approaching, now might just be the perfect time for you to get your house on the market.
