A £20 top-up on your Oyster card used to last for months, but with the latest rise in Tube fares, it might barely cover a few journeys.

Transport for London (TfL) last month increased its train and Underground fares by 4.6 per cent. This means that a single Tube journey within zone 1 will increase from £2.80 to £2.90 at peak times and £2.70 to £2.80 off peak.
