How to make sure you get Oasis tickets: 5 top tips

Forget Glastonbury: the biggest challenge of 2024 might well be getting your hands on a ticket to see Oasis.

That’s right. After years of bitter feuding, the Gallagher brothers have reunited and are heading out on a mega-tour that will incorporate 17 UK dates as well as some rumoured overseas ones. And it’s no surprise, but demand for tickets is sky-high.

With the sale going live at 9am on Saturday – except for those lucky people who have been selected for the pre-sale ballot, that is – now is the time to start planning for the big day. Have you checked your router? And what about your card details?

With competition sure to be fierce, here are our tips for maximising your chances of walking away with a ticket or two.

Be on time

Think you can rock up at 9.15am and still be in with a good chance of nabbing a ticket? Think again: when it comes to mega-sales like this, punctuality is key. Be on your laptop (or device of choice) at least 10 minutes before it actually starts, to make sure that all your equipment is in working order and there are no pesky updates.

Card details to hand

There’s nothing worse than the feeling of getting to the checkout, only to have your payment fall through because card details have been entered incorrectly – or, even worse, for it to bounce because there’s not enough money in your account. Do your due diligence beforehand: make sure you have access to a working credit card, and that the card details have been typed out beforehand, making copy-and-pasting them across the work of a moment.

Be close to the router

It sounds silly, but closer really is better – it means there will be minimal lag time in how fast your device is able to browse the internet. Lower than three bars is straying into the danger zone: the poorer the connection, the larger your chances of missing out. And, if your internet is really slow, consider switching to using data: it might well be faster.

Switch your devices on and off again

This includes routers, but also devices like laptops, phones and iPads. Do it well in advance, so that the systems can run any upgrades they need to – devices that haven’t been updated in a while tend to be old and slow, and rebooting them will help fix any bug issues that might impact how fast they run. It doesn’t sound like much, but it will all help.

Avoid clogging up channels

The age-old mistake: avoid having too many devices using the WiFi at the same time. Turn off all other appliances that might be using it: the television, gaming consoles, even smart devices. All this will help ensure that the devices you are using are able to browse the internet at maximum speed, the better able to secure those tickets.
