How to keep your mobile phone charged at Glastonbury Festival 2022

If you're one of the lucky ones heading down to Worthy Farm to enjoy all that Glastonbury Festival 2022 has to offer, you're sure to already be planning your visit and what you will need to take with you. Many festival-goers may also be wondering how they're going to keep their mobile phone charged during the five-day event.

It's predicted that more than 200 terabytes of data will be used by music fans visiting Worthy Farm this year. If this turns out to be the case, it will surpass 2019’s record of 100 terabytes of data, Glastonbury Festival’s technology partner EE has explained. Mobile network operator EE has also designed this year's official festival app, which will allows users to stay connected with the latest Glastonbury updates, create their own personalised line-ups, set reminders and also provides a live interactive map.

So if you're wondering how you're going to keep your phone charged in order to use the app, keep in touch with family and friends and share those important Glastonbury moments on social media. Here are all the details you need:

Where can you charge your mobile phone at Glastonbury?

Music fans heading to the festival will have access to EE's Recharge Tent to charge their mobile phones. It will be open from Thursday, June 23 to Sunday, June 26 between 10am and 10pm. The Recharge Tent is clearly marked on the Glastonbury Map and can be found in between the Left Field and The Glade.

There will be access to chargers which are free to all, regardless of what network you currently use. There will be charging stations compatible with all devices too, such as wireless, USB-C charging stations, lightning and Micro USB chargers. Wireless and USB-C stations will also charge compatible phones in under 30 minutes - allowing you to quickly get back out onto the festival site to enjoy all the activities and performances on offer.

You will also be able to purchase a power bank from the EE festival shop, located at the Recharge Tent, for £15 and once it runs out, head back to the shop to swap it for a fully charged power bank - you can do this once a day. Many festival-goers will also want access to the new Glastonbury app, designed by EE, which is free to download and the good news is, with the addition of a dark mode on the app, it will consume less battery than before.

If you're watching from home, you can also download the official Glastonbury app for the latest updates and to plan the performances you want to watch on the BBC.
