Thousands rush to get Bayeux Tapestry tickets as British museum issues warning

  • Tens of thousands of people are racing to secure tickets forthe Bayeux Tapestry, prompting the British Museum to warn visitors its website will be "very busy" amidst the high demand.
  • The historic tapestry is set to be exhibited in London for the first time in nearly 1,000 years, with tickets going on sale at 10am on 1 July.
  • The British Museum anticipates about 7.5 million visitors for the 70-metre long artwork, making it one of its most popular attractions ever.
  • The initial ticket release is for entry between September and December, with subsequent releases scheduled for October and January, covering viewing periods from January to March, and April to July 2027 respectively.
