The Osmonds and Six have wrapped up their Manchester theatre shows following successful legs in the city - and September is set to be just as exciting, with four incredible shows set to take to the stages of the Opera House and Palace Theatre.
For almost the entire month, the side-splitting Mrs Doubtfire will be at the Opera House , with tickets from as little as £13.
The musical comedy will land in Manchester on Friday, September 2, and run throughout the month until Saturday, October 1.

For those who haven’t seen the 1993 film starring Robin Williams, the musical’s description reads: “Out-of-work actor Daniel will do anything for his kids. After losing custody in a messy divorce, he creates the alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives. As his new character takes on a life of its own, Mrs. Doubtfire teaches Daniel more than he bargained for about how to be a father.”
During the four-week run of the show, there will be a total of 34 shows including evenings, matinees, captioned, signed and audio described performances. Weekend tickets, which start at £22.50, are already selling quickly, but there’s still plenty of availability in the week with prices between £13 and £90, depending on where you choose to sit.
Over at Palace Theatre, We Will Rock You will be performing from Monday, September 5 to Saturday, September 10, and tickets cost upwards of £26.40. The smash-hit musical features 24 of Queen’s biggest hits paired with Ben Elton’s futuristic comedy writing and a live band for almost three hours of thrilling entertainment.
Since 2002 over 16 million theatergoers in 19 countries have been treated to the production which features tracks like Radio Ga Ga, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody and, of course, We Will Rock You.
There are eight shows across the six days, with low availability for Friday and Saturday performances already, but there are still plenty for weekday shows. Tickets can cost up to £77.40 for the best seats in the house.
Manchester Evening News’ Bethan Shufflebotham caught the show back in March, and said it’s ‘guaranteed to blow your mind’.
Dreamgirls will be at Palace Theatre from Tuesday, September 13 for a week and a half until Saturday, September 24, starring Nicole Dennis - who was a 2019 finalist on ITV’s The Voice - as Effie White.
Direct from the West End with an extraordinary story of three talented young singers in the turbulent 1960s.
The description reads: “Join the three friends as they embark upon a musical rollercoaster ride through a world of fame, fortune and the ruthless realities of show business, testing their friendships to the very limit.”
Tickets for the 15 shows start at £13 , with some weekend shows already nearly sold out. You can pick up your tickets via the ATG website here.
And last but certainly not least is Saturday Night Fever, running from Tuesday, September 27 to Saturday, October 1, where fans can follow the story of Tony Manero as he embarks on a reckless yet thrilling road to dancing success.
With a soundtrack from the Bee Gees the musical is a homage to the 1977 John Travolta classic with ‘more drama, more music, and hot new choreography’.
Tickets start at £13 and there’s plenty available for all eight shows, and you can buy them here.
