How to complete the Trial in Forza Horizon 6 Series 2 Week 2

The Trial is one of the hardest Festival Playlist events in Forza Horizon, and it returned in Forza Horizon 6’s Series 2 last week in Horizon Decades as a 6v6 co-op racing event where you team up with other players and have to beat a team of Unbeatable-level Drivatars in a best-of-three championship.

Teamwork is paramount in The Trial because the event requires your whole team to win together, because even if you manage to get first, you will still lose if your teammates finish behind the Drivatars.

The Trial is back for Week 2 in Forza Horizon 6, and just like Series 2 Week 1, it’s once again gated behind the Gold Wristband and reaching Legend Island. Playground Games decided against introducing The Trial in Series 1 to avoid adding additional pressure to progress through the story quickly, but then added it back to the Festival Playlist starting with Series 2.

To earn the Gold Wristband, simply play through the Festival events and then do the Showcases when available. Wristbands unlock new event access as you progress, and the Gold Wristband also opens Legend Island and other late-game content.

How The Trial works

Just like last week, The Trial has a setup of three races of humans versus Drivatars of Unbeatable difficulty. Players need to play the teamwork game, as the AI team is strong, and to win the event, you need to win two out of three races. Bad car choices, tuning errors, bad racecraft, and poor teammates can cost the win.

In Series 2 Week 2, The Trial is called Driving in the 90’s. It is worth 10 Festival Playlist points. It’s restricted to the A-Class 700 PI 1990s Retro Supercars, and rewards the 1999 Lamborghini Diablo GTR.

Best car for The Trial in Forza Horizon 6 Series 2 Week 2

For Series 2 Week 2, use the Barn Find 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV tuned to exactly 700 PI. This A-Class 1990s Retro Supercar has phenomenal top speed and great acceleration to gain a lot of advantage right at the start over the Drivatars.

You can’t really go wrong with upgrading this car, but if you don’t want any hassle, use this Share Code to get a nicely tuned 700 PI Diablo:

You can go for any other A-Class 700 PI 1990s Retro Supercar available to you, but the simple reality is that those cars are a bit too expensive, and you likely already have this Diablo in your garage.

How to win The Trial

This week’s Trial is a bit easier than last week’s, simply due to the nature of the cars available to you. 700 PI Diablo SV deals with most of the opposition right at the start, and then you should either help out your team by ramming the Drivatars, or minimize your mistakes if you find yourself leading.

Still, the most important rule is to avoid hitting your teammates. Try to block the Drivatars and don’t let the AI team score more points.

Do not divebomb the first corner unless you can home in on the opposing Drivatar, as ramming a teammate could be the difference between losing and winning.

If you pass the leading Drivatars, try to slow them down slightly, block them, bait them into overtaking, ram them, and throw them into the sea at the second track. Winning could be enough if you have a competent team, but if your team is falling behind, you will have to do some dirty work to win.

As always, try not to miss any checkpoints. Rewinds are costly time-wise, and Drivatars punish these mistakes harshly.

The Trial completion checklist

Before starting The Trial, make sure you have:

  • The Gold Wristband
  • An eligible car. The 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV is what we recommend.
  • The car is tuned to 700 PI.
  • Patience to likely have to run the event several times.

Try to race cleanly, help out your teammates, and ram the Drivatars when you can to maximize your chances of winning.
