- There’s no cooldown or restriction on changing Specializations.
- Every Specialization has multiple Specialization Focuses that you can change in the Character menu.
How to change Specialization in The Division Resurgence
To change Specialization in The Division Resurgence, play the game until you reach level 12. Complete the main missions and side quests to earn XP. Once you reach the required level, you get the Career Options quest and unlock the Specialization Quartermaster vendor at the NYC Base of Operations (Phoenix icon).
Head to the Specialization Quartermaster and talk to him to change Specialization. After interacting with the Specialization Quartermaster once, you can change Specializations on the go through the Character menu.
There are five Specializations available as of the game’s launch:
- Vanguard
- Demolitionist
- Bulwark
- Field Medic
- Tech Operator
To unlock the Tech Operator Specialization, you need a Specialization Request Seal. You can spend it now or keep it for upcoming Specializations.
There’s no cost, cooldown, or restrictions on changing Specializations. Feel free to change your builds as often as you’d like. Talent Points are exclusive to a Specialization, but if you switch back, the game keeps your upgrades and Skill Mods, so you don’t have to reconfigure your character.
How to change Specialization Focus in The Division Resurgence
Specialization Focuses are different Talent Trees within a Specialization. At launch, each Specialization has two Focuses. You can have one Focus active at a time, and each allows you to lean into specific skills or playstyles. Some even alter core skills.
To change Specialization Focus:
- Open the Character menu.
- In the Specialization Focus tab, spend two Talent Points to unlock the second Focus.
- Select a different Focus and press Activate Focus.
The Talent Point progress is shared across all Focuses within a Specialization. If you earned nine Talent Points on Commando for Vanguard, you will have nine Talent Points when you switch to Recon. You can also safely reset Talent Trees without any losses or penalties.
