The Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team will host their in-state rivals, the Oklahoma State Cowgirls, on Saturday in Norman in a battle between two Big 12 foes.
The Sooners currently sit perched atop its conference with a one-game lead over the Texas Longhorns thanks to a 13-2 mark against Big 12 competition. Oklahoma’s 18-7 overall record is also good enough for a No. 23 ranking in the latest Associated Press Poll.
The Cowgirls have been the epitome of mediocre this season, bringing a 13-13 overall record along with a substandard 6-9 tally in conference play into Saturday’s matchup. Oklahoma State has split its last four but did emerge victorious from its most recent game against the Central Florida Knights.
