Tiger Woods, who has won $120 million on the PGA Tour in his storied golf career, just got $8 million more despite not hitting a single shot on the tour in 2021.
The Tour’s new Player Impact Program had a pool of $40 million to give out to 10 golfers who had the highest score based on a bunch of metrics that would measure their popularity across certain platforms. An algorithm then converted those numbers into a score that determined who would got the biggest bonus — in this case, a cool $8 million for Tiger.
