Nine individuals saw their time as Liverpool players come to an end this summer, each heading in different directions as their respective spells drew to a close.
For the majority, a departure was required in order to secure regular first-team minutes but this was certainly not the scenario in the case of Sadio Mane. The Senegalese star brought his six-year stay on Merseyside to an end to complete a transfer to Bayern Munich, citing the need for a 'new challenge' as the driving factor behind his exit.
Much has been made of Liverpool's inability to adapt to the loss of the 30-year-old, though recent results have suggested Darwin Nunez is well on his way to filling the void left behind by Mane.

Below we have assessed how the Reds' attacking icon and the eight others who parted company with the club have fared since moving on.
Sadio Mane - Bayern Munich
It never once seemed in doubt Sadio Mane would fail to adapt to his surroundings in Germany. Mane has hit the ground running at his new employers, scoring 11 goals and registering four assists in 23 appearances.
He sadly suffered a leg injury in Bayern's 6-1 win over Werder Bremen last Tuesday, a setback which has not only ruled him out of representing his nation at the World Cup but has left him a doubt for a Champions League Round of 16 first leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain in February. Despite this unfortunate blow, Mane has more than made his mark in Bavaria and beyond.
Verdict: Hit
Loris Karius - Newcastle United
The writing was very much on the wall for Loris Karius at Liverpool after a Champions League final to forget in 2018. Three consecutive loan moves followed for the German following the Reds' defeat by Real Madrid on the biggest stage in club football, spending two seasons at Besiktas and one campaign with Union Berlin.
Released by the Reds during the summer, the 29-year-old remained a free agent until recruited by Newcastle United in September on a short-term contract until January in response to an injury sustained by second-choice shot-stopper Karl Darlow.
Eddie Howe's side do have the option to extend this deal until the end of the season, though this is in doubt as Darlow closes in on a first-team return.
Verdict: N/A
Divock Origi - AC Milan
Despite reaching the end of his journey with Liverpool after a number of memorable moments, it felt as though the time was right for the Belgian to seek pastures new.
Responsible for delivering in high-pressure situations for the club, frequent first-team starts often eluded Origi and played a major role in Liverpool's decision to sanction his departure.
Origi has one goal and one assist to his name for AC Milan, a tally he will look to add to in the coming months, and is already one game away from matching the five starts he made for the Reds in all competitions last term. Although still to establish himself as a prolific goalscorer, the towering forward is benefitting from regular opportunities to impress in Italy.
Verdict: Hit
Elijah Dixon-Bonner - QPR
Dixon-Bonner's seven-year association with Liverpool came to an end this summer after his release from the club was announced.
The London-born midfielder joined the Reds' Academy system in 2015 at the age of 14 and made a total of three senior appearances before bidding farewell.
Championship side Queens Park Rangers secured the services of the 21-year-old last month following a successful trial, resulting in a reunion with former Liverpool Academy coach Michael Beale. He is yet to feature for the Hoops so his impact cannot yet be appropriately assessed.
Verdict: N/A
Sheyi Ojo - Cardiff City
It took a total of seven loan spells before Sheyi Ojo's time as a Red reached a conclusion, having enjoyed stints at Wigan Athletic, Wolves, Fulham, Reims, Rangers, Cardiff City and Millwall before his eventual exit.
Ojo never appeared likely to become a feature of Klopp's squad due to the competition for places in his area of the pitch, the final third, but has starred in every league fixture this season for new employers Cardiff.
The 25-year-old looks set to play a starring role for the Bluebirds this term, which can only prove to be a positive for the stage at which he finds himself in his professional career.
Verdict: Hit
Ben Woodburn - Preston North End
Similarly to Ojo, Ben Woodburn was handed his first-team debut by Klopp and quickly became a player fans were left excited by. The Welshman scored on his debut appearance against Leeds United, becoming the Reds' youngest-ever goalscorer at first-team level.
The 23-year-old never truly kicked on from this historic moment and enjoyed loans of varying success at Sheffield United, Oxford United, Blackpool and Hearts. He penned a one-year deal at Preston North End in July and has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Ryan Lowe's high-flying side.
Verdict: Hit
Takumi Minamino - Monaco
Sold to Monaco in a package deal worth a potential £15.5m, Takumi Minamino arrived in France with something of a point to prove after a largely underwhelming spell at Liverpool.
The Japan international become the Reds' cup specialist last season, playing a key role in the team's domestic double, but was limited to only nine starts across all competitions.
History has somewhat repeated itself in Ligue 1, with the 27-year-old making only five league starts and stuck on the bench for three of Monaco's six Europa League group stage fixtures.
Verdict: Miss
Neco Williams - Nottingham Forest
Neco Williams was faced with two choices this summer: continue as Trent Alexander-Arnold's long-term understudy or look to carve out a career elsewhere. In the end, he opted for the latter by joining Nottingham Forest.
Featuring as a wing-back of a five-man defence at the start of the season, a switch to a 4-3-3 system in recent weeks has resulted in the Wales international moving to left-back after seeing Serge Aurier take his slot on the opposite flank.
The 21-year-old has had to be flexible regarding Steve Cooper's change in approach, but has generally offered an attacking threat whenever taking the pitch and is likely to improve year-on-year.
Verdict: Hit
Ben Davies - Rangers
Ben Davies' Liverpool debut never did arrive, but that did not deter Rangers from spending an initial £3million to bring the defender to Ibrox back in July.
A recent injury to Conor Goldson has paved the way for the centre-back to showcase his capabilities, presenting opportunities both in the Scottish Premiership and Champions League. Davies will be hoping to maintain his place within the team as Rangers look to get their title tilt back on track.
Verdict: Hit
