The Eagles retooled this offseason, signing All-Pro quarterback, Jalen Hurts to a massive contract extension, and adjusting after losing some big-name defenders in free agency.
Philadelphia could have a problem after Nick Bosa agreed to a five-year, $170 million extension with San Francisco.

The $34 million per season makes Bosa the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.
Bosa is now the 15th-highest-paid player in the entire NFL, quarterbacks included, in terms of per-year average.
The deal comes almost a month after Haason Reddick was asked about his salary and where it ranks among the NFL’s top pass rushers.

GM Howie Roseman focused on adding younger talent in free agency this offseason, with the potential for impactful production on a cheap deal.
With Bosa’s new deal in place, here’s how it impacts the Eagles and Haason Reddick.
Comparing Bosa to Reddick in 2022
In 2022, Bosa posted his best season, earning his first All-Pro nod and a third Pro Bowl berth after his league-leading 18.5 sacks, 51 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 58 quarterback pressures (third in the NFL).
Bosa has posted a combined 34 sacks over the past two seasons.
Reddick had 35 solo tackles, 14 assists, 16.0 sacks and 3 fumble recoveries in 17 games in 2022, while being selected to play in his first Pro Bowl.
Highest paid edge rusher in 2023
After Bosa’s new deal, he’ll be the highest paid edge rusher and defender at $34M average per season.
Reddick compared to his peers
Reddick is entering the second of a three-year, $45 million deal and he’s currently the 16th highest paid edge rusher in the NFL.
Final observation
The 29 year old Reddick has two years remaining on his deal, but 2023 is the last year of guaranteed money, and he’ll carry a $20 million cap hit.
If Philadelphia doesn’t sign Reddick to an extension or add new money to his deal, he’ll be a 30 or 31-year old free agent looking for a new deal.
With Howie Roseman drafting Nolan Smith, things could get interesting this upcoming offseason regardless of the numbers Reddick post.
