Ubisoft Plus is overhauling its subscription plans in a bid to compete with rival gaming services such as EA Play.
Launched in 2019, the platform lets you play new releases and classic titles for a monthly fee, including games from the popular Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises.
After historically offering access to a single library, Ubisoft is now introducing a new plan with a smaller selection of games for players on a budget.
Here’s what you need to know about Ubisoft Plus, including prices and the games you can play on each tier.
What is Ubisoft Plus?
Ubisoft Plus is a subscription service that lets you play as many games as you like from its catalogue.
Seeing as you don’t own the titles, you lose access to them if you decide to leave.
In the past, Ubisoft offered a subscription that gave you unrestricted access on PC, along with a multi-platform plan that threw in Xbox and Amazon Luna on top.
Meanwhile, a pared-down version is bundled with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
How much is Ubisoft Plus?
In mid-January, Ubisoft announced that it was overhauling its subscription plans.
The existing Ubisoft+ Multi-Access and PC Access subscriptions are now known as Ubisoft Plus Premium, which costs £15 per month.
Customers who were previously paying £13 per month to play on PC only will keep their current plan at the same price, Ubisoft said in a blog post.
A new Ubisoft Plus Classics for PC subscription plan is also now available for £7 per month.
What games are included in Ubisoft Plus Classics?
Ubisoft Plus Classics gives you access to 47 games, including older titles such as Rainbow Six Extraction, Far Cry Six, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Watch Dogs Legion, among others.
Ubisoft is promising to keep expanding the selection “as time goes on", though it will likely remain much smaller than the premium plan.
What games are included in Ubisoft Plus Premium?
Ubisoft Plus Premium, on the other hand, currently offers 145 games in total.
But, the best thing about it is that it features day-one releases and early access games in the vein of Game Pass.
You can currently play the likes of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and The Crew Motorfest.
The long-awaited high-seas pirate adventure Skull and Bones is also listed as coming soon.
