How many episodes of The Pact are there? BBC thriller kicks off with Laura Fraser leading cast

If you're still reeling from the rather lacklustre end of Line of Duty, there's a new BBC drama on offer this week that many viewers have high expectations for.

It's been just over two weeks since fans of all things AC-12 hit out the final episode of Line of Duty series 6 for not firing on all cylinders, with some viewers even describing as 'the worst ending ever.'

The Pursuit of Love, the new period drama that went into Line of Duty's 9pm Sunday slot, received a lukewarm reaction to say the least when it debuted last weekend.

And now there's a new series for telly addicts to air their opinions on in the form of thriller The Pact, which debuted on Monday, the same time Innocent returned to ITV.

Former Breaking Bad and The Missing actress Laura Fraser leads The Pact cast as Anna, one of four group of friends who are forced to close ranks after a prank on their boss goes horribly wrong.

A teaser for episode 1 reads: "Anna, Nancy, Louie and Cat have had enough of their tyrannical young boss, Jack Evans, and make a drunken snap decision at a work function that has shocking repercussions."

There are SIX episodes of The Pact, with two airing each week for the next three.

Episode 1 and 2 will be on BBC1 at 9pm on May 17 and 18, with 3 and 4 following on May 24 and 25 and episodes 5 and 6 bringing things to a close on June 1 and 2.

A brief summary for the second parts teases: "Anna, Nancy, Louie and Cat have had enough of their tyrannical young boss, Jack Evans, and make a drunken snap decision at a work function that has shocking repercussions."

There's been plenty of anticipation for The Pact's debut on Twitter, with one viewer posting: "New series on BBC 1 tonight at 9pm. The Pact looks good. Jason Hughes who played Ben Jones in Midsomer Murders in it too."

Another tweeted: "After LODuty it's good to see BBC are striking while the iPlayer is hot with drama"
