Manchester United may have fallen short against Arsenal on Sunday but that shouldn't overshadow the progress they've made under Erik ten Hag this season.
The Dutchman has transformed United's fortunes during his brief Old Trafford tenure and has managed to steer the club back into the upper echelons of the Premier League. Individually, numerous players, including Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes, have also been revitalised by Ten Hag's methods and recaptured the form of seasons gone by.
But while some have benefited from working with the former Ajax chief, others are progressing away from the club on loan: including highly-rated winger Amad, who caught the eye again for Sunderland at the weekend.
Here, Mirror Football runs the rule over how Amad and United's 12 other loanees have been betting on away from Old Trafford...
Amad
After a disappointing stint with Rangers last term, Amad has rebounded in style with Sunderland, who firmly in the mix for a Championship play-off spot.
Amad has played in influential role in their bid for a top-six finish after plundering seven league goals in 21 games for Tony Mowbray's side.
His latest strike, a thunderbolt from the edge of the box in Sunday's 2-0 win over Middlesbrough, capped another fine display for Amad, who was branded as the "best player on the park" by Sky Sports pundit Sol Bamba.
Dean Henderson
Join the debate! Which Man Utd loanees in this list do you think have a first-team future at Old Trafford? Let us know here.
Dean Henderson is another player who is thriving away from Old Trafford. Unlike Amad, Henderson has caught the eye in the Premier League after joining Nottingham Forest on loan for the season.
The 25-year-old has managed to keep six clean sheets in 18 league appearances for the strugglers and has earned rave reviews after producing a string of impressive performances.
Henderson is set to spend the next few weeks on the sideline after picking up a thigh injury, but he has already reminded everyone of his Premier League credentials at The City Ground.
Alvaro Fernandez
Young left wing-back Alvaro Fernandez is also spending a season in the Championship with Preston North End.
After overcoming an ankle injury that plagued the early weeks of his loan stay, Fernandez has featured in 19 of the Whites' last 22 league games, clocking up two assists.
PNE boss Ryan Lowe admitted that Fernandez "lost a bit of focus" when he was taken out of the team prior to the World Cup, but the 19-year-old has muscled his way back into the fold at Deepdale in recent weeks.
Alex Telles
Alex Telles has endured a mixed spell with Sevilla since moving to LaLiga back in the summer.
The versatile left-back has started just seven of the 14 league games he's been available for this term and has been out since last month with a knee injury that he picked up at the World Cup.
The Brazilian avoided surgery but could face a struggle to muscle his way back into the Sevilla squad when he returns.
Ethan Laird
Like Amad and Fernandez, Ethan Laird has also made a big impression in the Championship, where he's been a regular for QPR.
The highly-rated 21-year-old has made the right-back spot his own in west London but is set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in QPR's draw with Swansea at the weekend.
R's boss Neil Critchley admitted that losing the United youngster, who has attracted transfer interest in his time away from Old Trafford, was a blow as he had been "really good" for the Londoners.
Dermot Mee
Young goalkeeper Dermot Mee had been sent out to gain valuable first-team experience with Altrincham in the National League - but it hasn't quite gone to plan.
The 20-year-old has conceded 11 goals in just four games for the non-leaguers since joining them on an emergency loan until the start of January and hasn't played since September.
Eric Bailly
Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly was always likely to be a casualty after United splashed out on Lisandro Martinez.
Bailly has impressed at Marseille and attracted admiring glances from elsewhere but will miss several weeks of action after he was handed a seven-game ban following a nasty challenge that hospitalised an opponent earlier this month.
Hannibal Mejbri
Another United youngster who has been linked with a permanent move away in recent months, Hannibel Mejbri's time with Birmingham City has been mixed.
The Tunisian playmaker has featured 23 times for the Blues, clocking up three assists and a staggering seven yellow cards.
After catching the eye at the end of last season in the Premier League, the jury is still out on whether Hannibal is capable of forcing his way into Ten Hag's plans in the wake of his underwhelming Championship spell.
Will Fish
Teenage centre-back Will Fish has struggled for minutes at Hibernian after making the trip up to the Scottish Premiership.
Fish has started just twice for Hibernian this term and made only five appearances overall for Lee Johnson's side, who are currently sixth in the top-flight standings.
Ethan Galbraith
Ethan Galbraith has linked up with some famous United faces of old at Salford - and the youngster has flourished in League Two.
The 21-year-old midfield man has chalked up four goals and an assist in 16 league appearances for Salford, who are bidding to earn promotion to the third-tier for the first time in their history this term.
Galbraith, who has been capped at U21 level for Northern Ireland, has earned rave reviews at the Peninsula Stadium and could be primed for a temporary move to a higher division in the near future.
Charlie Wellens
Charlie Wellens, the son of Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens, was sent out on loan to his dad's old side, Oldham for four months back in September.
However, the 20-year-old made just six appearances in the National League for the Latics and an agreement was struck between all parties for Wellens to return to Old Trafford ahead of schedule last month.
Matej Kovar
Czech Republic goalkeeper Matej Kovar has enjoyed a decent spell with AC Sparta Prague in the Fortuna Liga, where he has made a big impression.
Featuring regularly in a top-flight European league should do Kovar, who has already been tipped to earn full international honours, the world of good.
Kovar has started in all 16 league games for Sparta this term.
Shola Shoretire
Exciting young forward Shola Shoretire joined League One high-fliers Bolton Wanderers earlier this week and made his debut in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Derby.
Shoretire, 18, played the full 90 minutes for the Trotters and caught the eye of boss Ian Evatt, who claimed after the match that the youngster has the scope to evolve into a “really good player”.
