Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s main story could take 30 hours to finish. There are 36 boss encounters, some of which are arguably tougher than others, and could take a while to beat.

In addition to the main story, there are named side quests, Curious Cases (mythical story quests), treasure hunts, Ace Archer challenges, chance encounters, and lion dog collectibles to keep you busy for an additional 10-15 hours.

Completing side quests and Ace Archer challenges will get you valuable crafting materials such as iron and leather, which are essential for upgrading Musashi’s sword and clothing. Curious Cases are the best optional story quests in Onimusha: Way of the Sword that introduce you to myths and legends surrounding Eastern Kyoto during the Edo Period.

Treasure Hunts are tricky to complete, but reward similar late-game crafting materials. Chance encounters, as the name suggests, happen when you’re exploring Eastern Kyoto on foot. Completing them all will unlock the “No Job Too Small” achievement/trophy.

Lion Dogs are the most endearing creatures you can find in Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s world. Rescuing them will unlock new sword skins. Additionally, rescuing all Lion Dogs will unlock the “For the Love of Dog” achievement/trophy.
