United opened the scoring in the first half thanks to a fantastic finish from Dimitar Berbatov. Liverpool equalised, though, through Gonzalez, before Sinama-Pongolle fired home the winner in the latter stages.
Keane was not in the starting line-up for the Red Devils, having been named among their substitutes, not too long before kick-off. He was introduced in the second half in place of Darron Gibson, though, and his appearance did not go unnoticed among Liverpool fans.
As Keane’s name was read out by the stadium announcer, Anfield rang out in a chorus of boos aimed at the Sky Sports pundit. Then, when Keane was in possession of the ball, Reds supporters once again booed the former United captain.
