It's no secret that Beyoncé's decision to snub Manchester from her Renaissance world tour has left some of her fans furious. But now those lucky enough to have secured tickets fear they could be facing pricey accommodation costs after discovering what one hotel was charging the night of her Cardiff gig.
Twitter user 'Smithy’ said he was searching for an overnight hotel in the Welsh capital on May 17 and was horrified to see a quote for a staggering £9,508.54.

In his tweet, he wrote: “£110 for a Beyoncé ticket, £10,000 for a hotel near the venue. How is this legal.”
He attached a picture of the booking for the Ibis Cardiff Centre for two guests from May 17 for a one night stay.
Many replied to the tweet saying “they are taking the absolute p*ss.”
Others tweeted saying “this is outrageous” while another pointed out it “doesn't even come with breakfast.”
People pointed out it is common for accommodation to spike on nights when there’s a big event on, such as the Eurovision which saw Liverpool prices exceed £1,000 for the night of May 13, 2023.
“Hotel Management people are going straight to hell. They did the same thing for Eurovision. Some even cancelled prior bookings because they wanted to charge more,” one said.
One person wrote: “I hope to God this is an error on their website…”
Another Twitter user seemed to be getting a similar rate when searching the same details on Booking.com saying: “Went and looked for myself and honestly just disgusting, Ibis hotel that shouldn’t even be more than £70 a night?”
This person got a quote of £10,000 for the night of the concert.
However, one person replied offering an explanation to the madness, saying they assumed “the £10k is an arbitrary place holder listing.”
Accor, who manage Ibis, have said that the booking quote was an 'error' and that it has now been rectified. If you search this date on the budget hotel, it comes up with “no longer available for the dates requested.”
A statement from the company read: "We have looked into this and can confirm this is an error that has now been rectified, the hotel is actually closed for bookings at the moment and will be on the concert date."
The 'Single Ladies' pop star recently announced her Renaissance tour dates for 2023 and is set to perform at four venues across the UK in May this year, in Sunderland, Cardiff, Edinburgh and London.
